What would be the advantages of exploiting resources with short-term aims?
Answer: Short-term exploitation provides quick economic gains but leads to resource depletion, environmental degradation, and long-term scarcity. There are no real advantages for sustainability.
Ex 32 marks
How would these advantages differ from the advantages of using a long-term perspective in managing our resources?
Answer: Long-term perspective ensures sustainability, intergenerational equity, and ecological balance. It conserves resources for future generations, reduces pollution, and maintains biodiversity.
Ex 42 marks
Why do you think there should be equitable distribution of resources? What forces would be working against an equitable distribution of our resources?

Ex 62 marks
Suggest some approaches towards the conservation of forests.
Answer: Afforestation, controlled deforestation, involving local communities (JFM), banning poaching, establishing wildlife sanctuaries and national parks, and using alternative sources of timber.
