Why does India have a monsoon type of climate?
Answer: India has a monsoon type of climate because the climate of the country is strongly influenced by the monsoon winds. These winds show seasonal reversal in direction and bring most of the rainfall during a few months. India has a distinct seasonal pattern consisting of the cold weather season, hot weather season, advancing monsoon and retreating monsoon. Therefore, the climate of India is described as the monsoon type of climate.

Answer: The cold weather season begins from mid-November in northern India and continues till February. December and January are the coldest months. The temperature decreases from south to north.
